Today I learned that Salon has an incredible food section with incredible recipes. This is bostock. It really is one of the best French toast variations I’ve ever had, and it’s probably safe to say I ate way more than my fair share. Want to make it yourself? Me, too. Here is the recipe. Sunday Dinner: chocolate chip pancakes, maple sausage, and a fried egg over easy. Why? Because the only thing better than a regular breakfast is eating breakfast for dinner. I’d give you the recipe, except it’s already on the side of the Bisquick box. BUT I will say this, though — adding a teaspoon of sugar and a teaspoon of vanilla to the batter does wonders. (Also, chocolate chips.)

What is up with this Denny’s Baconalia nonsense lately? Gross. This is how you do bacon right. The Farmer’s BLT: crisp thick-cut Berkshire bacon, grilled organic tomatoes, and Suzie’s Farm red leaf lettuce on sourdough bread. Garlic aioli and taro root chips on the side. Then I’m pretty sure I also got the Hail Mary, which is a Bloody Mary with bacon-infused vodka. Seriously, just managing to not be 500 lbs is an incredibly difficult task when there is so much good food right in your own backyard.

There’s only so much research you can do to prepare for a nerve-wracking job interview. When my own Morning of Reckoning came around on Friday, there was only one thing left to do: make myself a strong cup of coffee and an egg sandwich. It’s one of my all-time favorite breakfasts ever—it’s super quick and easy, and with protein to wake up your brain and flavor to brighten your mood, it has everything you need to conquer the world.
